Testing was conducted in conjunction with Matrix Design Group, LLC over a two day period at Alliance Coal’s Dotiki Mine approximately 750 feet below the surface of the earth and 2 miles from the hoist shaft. NAViSEER operated well within specification accuracy for individuals who had been initially calibrated. Additional testing with miners who had received no initial NAViSEER calibration also yielded high accuracy results. “We are extremely pleased with these test results from a real-world mining environment”, said Kent Garland, NAViSEER Product Manager. “The tests prove that NAViSEER provides a viable solution for the location and tracking of miners in true GPS-denied environments.” SEER Technology is currently partnering with Matrix Design Group, a leader in mining technology solutions, for integration of NAViSEER technology into a long term safety solution for the mining industry.
